Overview

We have an immediate and exciting opportunity for a resident management TEAM to join our family and direct a state-of-the-art self storage facility in a beautiful area of Chino Hills, California. This is a great chance to get on board with a long-term, stable leader in the self storage industry.

We are looking for an honest, hard-working team that works well together and presents a professional image. The ability to rent storage effectively (in-person, over-the-phone and on-line) and manage a large facility is a must. The qualified candidates will be savvy on the computer and be knowledgeable with Word, Excel and Outlook. Maintenance and cleaning duties are also required. Must have a good credit history and pass a drug test.

This is a resident position, meaning that the managers will live on-site in a spacious apartment. Rent and utilities (except phone and cable) are included in the employment package, along with a competitive salary range, depending on the level of experience.  We also have a bi-monthly bonus program, health benefits, paid vacation, holidays and sick time.   

Self storage experience is a plus, but not essential. If you have lots of energy, the drive to succeed, and like to work independently, this is a wonderful opportunity.

Our company is very progressive in terms of training and marketing. We have high expectations but also give you the tools to meet them.  We value stability and look for employees who value the same.  You will be replacing a retiring manager who has been with us for almost 10 years.  We have a low amount of employee turnover at our facilities for a good reason.

Qualifications

  • We would like 2-3 years of experience in the Self-Storage industry, retail or sales. PLEASE NOTE: some of our best management teams had no self storage experience prior to joining up with us.
  • Computer literate with MS Office (Word/Excel and Outlook) and SiteLink (or Self Storage Internet based software).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and be able to complete custodial duties such as: sweeping, hauling trash and cleaning.
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance and clean driving record is required for this position. 

Responsibilities

  • Rent 30 – 50 storage units per month (1 to 2 per day).
  • Learn and operate our self-storage operating software. (It’s easy to learn!).
  • Assist customers with leasing process and reviewing the rental process.
  • Customer relations: constant interaction with existing and potential customers.
  • Sales of merchandise: boxes, packing supplies, etc.
  • General Office: administrative work, data entry, answer phones and update files, process closes.
  • Participate with marketing and advertising of the facility.
  • Market Surveys: conduct market surveys to competitive Self Storage stores in area.
  • Collection duties: call on any past due balances and collect late fees.
  • Maintenance/cleaning of the facility and daily walk-through of property.
  • Community and social networking and participate local events.
